Maintenance Requirements for Explosion-proof Electrical Equipment Explosion proof Light

I. Remedial Measures and Equipment Replacement

The inspection and maintenance of explosion-proof electrical devices should, when necessary, involve the implementation of appropriate remedial measures. It is important to maintain the integrity of the equipment’s explosion-proof type, which can be discussed with the manufacturer. Replacement of components should be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the applicable documents. If the documents stipulate that the replacement of certain components may have an adverse impact on the safety performance of the equipment, such replacement should not be carried out without the consent of the relevant authorities. It is advisable to avoid conflicts with the measures taken by the manufacturer to reduce the impact of static electricity. When replacing the light source of the lighting device, the correct rated value and model of the light source should be used; otherwise, it may cause excessive temperature. During the service life of the increased safety type of lamps, regular replacement of the light source should be given attention, as this may affect the temperature group of the lamps. Note: Etching, painting or blocking of transparent parts, or incorrect installation of the lighting device can all lead to excessive temperature.

II. Maintenance of Flexible Cables

Flexible cables, flexible conduits and their terminal connections are prone to damage and should be inspected at prescribed intervals. Any damage or deficiency found should be replaced.

III. Removal

If electrical equipment, etc. needs to be removed from the device during maintenance, the exposed conductors should be: a) correctly connected to terminals in the appropriate enclosure; or b) disconnected from all power supplies and insulated; or c) disconnected from all power supplies and grounded. If electrical equipment is permanently removed, all power supply conductors associated with it shall be disconnected and: a) Demolish; or b) Correctly connect to the terminals within the appropriate housing; or c) It should be grounded at only one end, and the other end of the cable should be insulated in a safe manner (for example, by heat shrink sealing).

Note: Using self-adhesive tape alone is not regarded as a safe insulation method.

IV. Fasteners and Tools

Where special bolts, other fasteners or special tools are required, such items should be provided and used.
