5. Panjang bahagian ulir luaran hendaklah sekurang-kurangnya 8 mm dan mengandungi sekurang-kurangnya 8 langkah ulir. Jika ulir mempunyai alur pelepasan, sebuah pencuci bersepadu dan tidak boleh dimampatkan atau peranti setara hendaklah dipasang untuk memastikan panjang penglibatan ulir yang diperlukan.
Penyumbat penutup NPT Ex tidak boleh mempunyai flan.
