Explosion proof linear lights (flameproof) cable introduction device selection requirements:

1. Cable introduction device sealed by compound packing and obtaining explosion-proof certificate of conformity as equipment;

2. Cables and lead-in devices that meet all of the following requirements:

(1) Cable introduction devices that have obtained an explosion-proof certificate of conformity as explosion-proof equipment;

(2) Use of thermoplastic-sheathed, thermoset-sheathed, or synthetic rubber-sheathed cables. The cables shall be round, dense, and any bedding and sheathing shall be extruded and the filler, if any, shall be nonhygroscopic;

(3) The minimum length of the connected cables shall be 3 m.

3. indirect cable introduction by means of a combination of an explosion-proof enclosure with a sleeve and a safety-increasing junction box;

4. mineral insulated metal sheathed cables with plastic sheaths or without plastic sheaths, with the corresponding explosion-proof cable introduction device;

5. for the equipment documentation specified in the explosion-proof sealing device (eg sealing cavity), the cable introduction device with the cable used to adapt. The sealing device shall have a compound packing seal or other corresponding seal allowing filler around the individual cores. The sealing device shall be installed close to the cable introduction device.

NOTE 1: The minimum cable length is intended to minimize the possibility of flame propagation through the cable;

NOTE 2: If the cable introduction device and the actual cable are licensed as part of the equipment (enclosure), compliance with the requirements of this article is not required.

In order to fulfill the requirements of the protection class, the cable introduction device and the housing shall also be sealed between them (e.g. with a sealing washer or thread sealant).
